Forbidden fruits
ANIMAL welfare group Viva! enlisted one of its supporters, Tina Warren, to pop over to Edinburgh from Glasgow to promote the joys of vegetarianism. Fully costumed as Latin legend Carmen Miranda, complete with crown of fruit, Tina spent Friday lunchtime rhumba'ing persuasively on Princes Street . As co-host of Glasgow 's monthly burlesque establishment, Club Noir, Tina is accustomed to attracting pithy cries from passers-by for her provocative garb. Edinburgh being Edinburgh , however, Tina drew only a single hushed aside from a silver-haired Terry-Thomas lookalike in a pinstripe suit: "I say . . . fruity maracas."
